Quality tier: the world the dish is photographed in

Director's choiceThe creative director reads who this dish is for and stages it in the scene language that serves it; one photograph. "Try another direction" renders the next one.One settingPick a surface and light below; one image.Chiaroscuro still lifeA dark wooden table edge against a near-black wall, one hard window light from high left, velvet shadow, a pewter cup or a linen cloth at the edge; the subject itself fully lit, bright and readable in every texture (only the surroundings sink into darkness), glowing like a Golden Age still life; no text.Nordic flat layA white linen or pale wood surface seen from above or near-above, soft shadowless north light, a spoon or a sprig placed with care, a lot of air; the subject as photographed; no text.Lonely AmericanaA quiet roadside place at dusk or first light: a rural gas station forecourt, a diner, a motel entrance; long raking shadows, warm window light against a cool sky, empty, still, painterly-real; the car parked as if its driver just stepped inside.Neo-noir nightA rain-slick empty city street at night: sodium-orange street lamps, a cyan or magenta neon glow with NO readable words, puddles mirroring the car's lines, deep blacks, fine 35 mm grain and halation, light rain; low camera near bumper height, the street receding behind the car.Luxury editorialSerious architecture at blue hour: a modernist villa, a travertine courtyard, a glass hotel entrance; warm interior light against the cool sky, long-lens compression, generous negative space, crisp specular highlights along the body; the car parked as if it belongs to the house.
